IPOH, Aug 13, 2026 – Perak DAP has unanimously resolved to remain in the unity government, pledging to mobilise its full machinery to uphold the people’s mandate and advance the nation’s reform agenda. In a statement, the party said the decision was made under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, whose administration has delivered significant reforms over the past three years while enhancing Malaysia’s global standing.

“DAP must continue to demonstrate its capabilities through achievements and performance to meet public expectations,” the statement read. Remaining in government, it added, allows the party to pursue the Pakatan Harapan manifesto, including institutional reforms, judicial independence, anti‑corruption efforts, cost‑of‑living relief, revenue system restructuring, and safeguarding multiracial rights.
The position comes ahead of the 2026 DAP Party Conference this Sunday, where a motion on the party’s federal role will be tabled by secretary‑general Anthony Loke.
