During a state visit to Singapore on June 16, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto lauded Singapore’s housing and reserve management policies, announcing Indonesia’s plans to emulate them. Speaking at a joint press conference with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Prabowo highlighted Indonesia’s initiative to build one million apartments for lower-income citizens, inspired by Singapore’s HDB programme, and the creation of the Daya Anagata Nusantara sovereign wealth fund, modeled after Temasek. Reflecting on his childhood in Singapore, Prabowo admired its early leaders and cited “copying with pride” as a form of respect, also praising Singapore’s orchid diplomacy.
