KOTA KINABALU: A woman in Kudat, Sabah, got the shock of her life when she accidentally caught a 3m-long, 300kg saltwater crocodile in her fishing net at Kampung Tungkang on July 7 around 10.30pm. Panicked, she screamed for help, and villagers rushed to restrain the massive reptile. Civil Defence officers arrived by 11.06pm, covered its eyes, and secured it safely. The operation ended by 1.35am without injuries. The crocodile was handed to the Sabah Wildlife Department. Authorities urged the public to stay alert near rivers and estuaries to prevent dangerous encounters with wildlife.
