SINGAPORE: The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) has conditionally approved the proposed commercial collaboration between Singapore Airlines Ltd and Malaysia Airlines Bhd. The partnership will involve joint efforts in scheduling, pricing, sales, marketing, and expanded codesharing between the two national carriers. CCCS said the airlines submitted proposed commitments to address concerns over potential anti-competitive effects, particularly regarding pricing and capacity coordination on the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur route. These commitments aim to safeguard competition and ensure consumer choice is not compromised. The collaboration marks a significant step in strengthening regional airline cooperation while maintaining fair market practices.
