A Singaporean woman was sentenced to three weeks in jail for attempting to bribe an auxiliary police officer at Woodlands Checkpoint on 17 July. She mistakenly entered the bus lane and offered the officer RM50 and SGD50 (approx. RM166), which were rejected.

She was arrested and claimed anxiety and poor communication skills led to the bribe attempt. The prosecution highlighted that both bribe attempts occurred in Singapore’s jurisdiction. In court, Wang appealed for leniency, citing her responsibility for caring for four children, and requested a postponement of her sentence for childcare arrangements, which was granted.
