Police in Malaysia have tightened the Malaysia-Thailand border security following a bomb explosion and gunfire believed to have occurred in the Sungai Golok, Narathiwat Province. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said in response to the incident, the police will also collaborate with the Thai authorities. PASIR MAS: Kelantan police turned to using armoured vehicles, specifically the AFV Commando V150, last night to tighten security control at the national border.

Sungai Golok
Five days ago, a vehicle with police officers exploded near Sungai Golok town. Preliminary investigations revealed three inactive bombs, 50 bullet casings, and scattered nails near the scene. Authorities suspect some attackers fled to Malaysia via the river route while others are hiding in the area. Sungai Golok District Police Chief, Pol Col Jadsadavit Inprapan had earlier said that investigations at the scene found a white sedan with the registration number of a neighbouring country.
