WASHINGTON, Aug 24 — President Donald Trump has escalated what critics call his “retribution presidency,” using federal powers to target political rivals and former allies. On Friday, the FBI searched the home of John Bolton, Trump’s ex-national security adviser who recently branded the administration a vendetta-driven one. Prosecutors have opened investigations into New York Attorney General Letitia James, Rep. Adam Schiff, and former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, while Democratic Rep. LaMonica McIver and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka face charges over immigration protests. Trump has also ordered probes into former officials Miles Taylor and Chris Krebs, both outspoken critics of his leadership.
