PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has apologised for his recent remarks comparing himself to angels, acknowledging it was a mistake. Zahid said the statement, made in an emotional moment while explaining the pressures he faces as UMNO president, caused confusion and could be misinterpreted. “I humbly seek forgiveness from Allah SWT and apologise to everyone for my lapse,” he posted on Facebook. He added that he accepts criticisms with an open heart and believes true leadership lies in sincerity to reflect, improve, and learn from mistakes. Zahid also prayed for guidance to uphold truth and faith.
