A total of 200 PKR members in Johor announced their departure to join MIC Iskandar Puteri, led by former PKR Johor deputy chair M Murugan, also known as Cikgu Rony. Murugan revealed that 350 members overall had quit, with some joining Umno, MCA, Bersama, while others left politics entirely.

Murugan highlighted irregularities in the 2025 party election, alleged manipulation via blockchain voting, and the abrupt cancellation of the Iskandar Puteri AGM as key triggers for his resignation.
