Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd has announced that the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Transit Service operation will be suspended at six stations along the Ampang/Sri Petaling line from April 2.
LRT Ampang’s downtime
The Bandaraya, Sultan Ismail, PWTC, Titiwangsa, Sentul, and Sentul Timur stations will be affected due to trains not meeting operational criteria and safety concerns. The decision follows an incident in which structural and track damage near the Bandaraya LRT station caused trains to be unable to return to the Ampang LRT Depot since January 27.
In response, Rapid Rail will provide free express bus services, LRT 13 and LRT 14, from April 2, in addition to the existing LRT 11 bus service. Rapid Rail also stated that LRT 9 and LRT 10 bus services will be terminated and apologised for any inconvenience caused to passengers. All bus services will use special bus routes provided.
