JELEBU, July 27, 2026 – DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke has strongly condemned remarks allegedly made by Perikatan Nasional election director Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, saying they insulted Malaysian citizens of Chinese and Indian descent by questioning their loyalty. Speaking with visible emotion after a community event in Sungai Rotan, Loke declared: “I am loyal to Malaysia. I am a Malaysian citizen. I hold a Malaysian passport. I took my oath as minister before the King. So what more must be questioned about my loyalty?”

He stressed that Malaysia is home to generations of Chinese and Indian citizens, including himself as a third-generation Malaysian. “I have no place in China. My place, my country, is Malaysia,” he said, adding that such divisive statements hurt all Malaysians, including Malays who value unity. Loke urged voters to reject politics that divides, insisting Malaysia must celebrate its diversity as one united nation.
