PETALING JAYA, July 27, 2026 – Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has dismissed claims that PN’s cooperation with Barisan Nasional (BN) is racially driven, calling such allegations political propaganda by Pakatan Harapan (PH). Samsuri said voters today are more informed and can verify past statements easily. “This issue does not arise. They are the ones who created such problems, as seen from past records,” he told Harian Metro. He also rejected suggestions that PN’s campaign lacked momentum, stressing the coalition was actively pursuing its own strategies.

Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan Umno chief Jalaluddin Alias likened BN-PN’s coordination to a new marriage, saying it required time to build understanding. He assured the campaign was progressing smoothly across both BN and PN-contested seats. The pact follows PAS and Bersatu ending ties last month, with PAS-led PN and BN later agreeing to avoid seat clashes. BN is contesting 25 seats, PN 11.
