SEREMBAN, July 26, 2026 – Barisan Nasional (BN) is confident of gaining stronger support from the Chinese community in the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election, mirroring the trend seen in Johor says this Umno leader. He meant that people are angry with PH for the policies implemented since 2022, particularly those hitting businesses.
Chinese voters
He is the BN deputy chairman Mohamad Hasan and he says Chinese voters have long been frustrated with government policies, affecting businesses. He cited dissatisfaction with measures such as the Sales and Service Tax (SST), e-invoicing, and heavy vehicle fines. “The anger in Johor was real, and I believe it will be translated here in Negeri Sembilan,” he said during a TV3 podcast.
Mohamad dismissed claims that voting BN equates to supporting PAS, describing such narratives as attempts to instill fear among Chinese voters. He stressed BN’s dominant role, contesting 25 seats compared to PN’s 11, and assured that BN would lead government formation if victorious. He added PAS has no ambition to claim the Menteri Besar post.
