The Court of Appeal in Putrajaya overturned the acquittal of four men accused of murdering T. Nhaveen in 2017, ordering them to enter their defence. The accused, J. Ragesuthan, 26, S. Gokulan, 26, and two juveniles at the time, must also face charges of grievous hurt against Nhaveen’s friend, T. Previin. A three-judge panel ruled sufficient evidence existed to establish a prima facie case, remitting the case to the Penang High Court and remanding the accused. Meanwhile, S. Gopinaath, 34, had his acquittal upheld due to procedural prejudice. Nhaveen succumbed to injuries sustained during a brutal assault with a helmet.
