A domestic dispute in Penang turned violent when a 30-year-old man allegedly attacked his 28-year-old wife before harming himself. Barat Daya police chief Sazalee Adam said initial investigations revealed the argument stemmed from a bank loan taken by the husband to invest in stocks and pay for online purchases. Police confirmed the loan was from a legitimate institution, not loan sharks. Both husband and wife are teachers. The woman has been discharged from Penang Hospital, while the man remains warded for psychiatric evaluation. The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
