Burglary Suspect Dies of Heart Attack During Break-In

IPOH, July 30 – A burglary attempt in Taman Star along Jalan Building Society ended tragically when a 40-year-old suspect collapsed and died from a heart attack during the incident. Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said the suspect and an accomplice broke into the house at about 5am on Tuesday by prying open a window.

A struggle ensued between the suspects and the caretaker of the house. One suspect fled, while the other collapsed unconscious and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. A post-mortem later confirmed the cause of death as a blocked heart artery.

Police have classified the case as sudden death, while the break-in is being investigated under Sections 457 and 324 of the Penal Code for housebreaking and causing hurt with a weapon. Authorities are now tracking down the accomplice who remains at large.
