If demand for fresh chicken in Singapore remains strong in the coming weeks, Indonesia may consider constructing a new farm in Batam, to export to Singapore according to The Straits Times.
The first batch of frozen chicken arrived in Singapore from Jakarta, Indonesia, on July 17 at the Leong Hup Distribution at Fishery Port Road.
Suryo Pratomo, the Indonesian ambassador to Singapore said, “If we can build up the farm in Batam, it won’t take long to transport live chickens to Singapore,” ST says adding that he was speaking to Indonesian poultry farmers who are deciding whether it will be economical.
