Singapore’s largest supermarket chain, NTUC FairPrice, has issued a public apology following a food handling lapse at its Anchorvale Village outlet. The incident, which went viral online, involved halal-certified chicken being processed in the same section designated for pork products, sparking concern among Muslim shoppers.

A customer’s daughter documented the mishandling and escalated the matter to store management, where a supervisor admitted the mistake and promised an investigation. The post, widely shared on social media, urged stricter staff training to ensure halal compliance. NTUC FairPrice has pledged corrective action, while MUIS has been notified to review the case.
