Barisan Nasional (BN) chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi urged the coalition to craft a new narrative focusing on housing, employment, and youth concerns ahead of Malaysia’s 16th general election. Speaking at a forum moderated by BN secretary-general Zambry Abdul Kadir, Zahid emphasized modernizing BN’s approach through data-driven strategies, microtargeting, and swift social media responses to counter negative perceptions within three hours. He cited Australia, Singapore, and Canada as models for post-polarisation politics. Zahid stressed that BN must lead with stability and shared values, learning from past losses in 2018 and 2022 due to unaddressed public perceptions, to rebuild trust and influence.
