PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia Airlines flight MH156, bound for Jeddah, returned to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on August 4 due to technical issues, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) confirmed. CAAM CEO Datuk Capten Norazman Mahmud reported that the plane, carrying umrah pilgrims, turned back as a precautionary measure.

The flight, which departed KLIA at 3:13 PM, landed safely back at 4:56 PM. All 259 passengers and crew members were reported safe. Malaysia Airlines stated that the passengers were accommodated in a hotel and rebooked on a new flight scheduled for 9 AM the next day.
