Hanging Sentence

When reading out the decision, Harmindar Singh said that the facts of the case that led to the victim’s death were found to be very unusual. He who sat with Judges Datuk Nordin Hassan and Datuk Abu Bakar Jais said that the victim was not only killed, but also raped and sexually assaulted during the day in areas visited by the public. “The court is not bound by public opinion, so this application is rejected and the death penalty is maintained,” he said.
