DAP Youth has urged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to deliver three “National Day gifts” to Malaysians, aimed at easing the cost of living and strengthening unity.
Its chief, Woo Kah Leong, said reforms must be bold yet compassionate to ensure young people, grassroots workers, and micro‑businesses are not burdened during the transition.

Woo suggested three measures: increasing the monthly Budi Madani petrol subsidy quota to 300 liters, raising diesel subsidies in Sabah and Sarawak to reflect local needs, and lifting the e‑Invoice implementation threshold to businesses with annual turnover above RM5 million.
He argued that public transport coverage remains insufficient, forcing ordinary citizens to rely on private vehicles, and that inadequate quotas raise daily expenses and inflationary pressures.
On diesel, Woo highlighted the unique geography of East Malaysia, where four‑wheel drives, diesel generators, small farm equipment, and river transport are essential. He urged the government to avoid a one‑size‑fits‑all approach and simplify the SKDS application process.
Regarding e‑Invoices, Woo warned that small and medium enterprises face high digitalization costs and limited technical support. He called for a phased rollout to prevent closures. Finally, he urged ministries to coordinate better and prioritize reducing the rakyat’s burden in policymaking.
