An explosion at a chemical factory in Taman Perindustrian Kapar Bestari, Klang, released toxic yellow smoke earlier today. The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department received the distress call at 4.30pm Assistant operations director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar reported the incident occurred in the factory’s storage area, emitting smoke that irritated firefighters’ eyes.

The Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) team arrived at 8pm, confirming normal chemical exposure levels and identifying the burnt material as recycled acid A tanker lorry was destroyed, and the Environment Department is assessing the site. No injuries or fatalities were reported. Monitoring of the area continues.
