The grief-stricken family of a woman killed by a neighboring school’s roof during a storm in Kampung Tahang Rimau, Johor, remains shocked by the tragic incident. The victim’s brother, V. Bala, recounted that his brother-in-law, P. Saravanan, heard a loud crash followed by screams from the kitchen.
Loud Crash
Saravanan discovered his wife, V. Mahadevi, trapped beneath the massive roof. The family sought help from neighbors, but Mahadevi did not respond. Mahadevi worked as a canteen worker at SM Seg Hwa, and her house was located next to the school.
Flying Roof
Sikajang MP Dr Zaliha Mustafa visited the family, offering financial aid to them and 40 other affected families in the parliamentary constituency. The Health Minister plans to meet with Segamat district officials to discuss providing assistance to approximately 100 families affected by the storm.
