Four police officers were injured while restraining a machete-wielding man who ran amok in Taman Seri Astana, Sungai Petani. Two officers, in their 20s, were treated and discharged, while two others, in their 40s and 50s, remain hospitalized in stable condition. Kuala Muda police chief Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail confirmed the incident, stating that officers opened fire in self-defense. The 32-year-old suspect was taken to Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:04 am.
