The Terengganu state government has introduced special seating arrangements for female spectators at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium to prevent gender mixing during football matches. This policy, announced by Terengganu Youth, Sports and NGO Committee Chairman Hishamuddin Abdul Karim, will begin with the Super League match between Terengganu FC and Negeri Sembilan.
Gender-segregated seating
The decision follows concerns about intermingling during a recent FA Cup semi-final. Hishamuddin emphasized that the stadium remains open to all, and the new seating arrangement aims to comply with religious and Shariah requirements while also offering designated family areas.
