Grab said yesterday that it has reinstated the Grab delivery-partner who was suspended, not fired, after a viral incident.
“Following a viral incident of a Grab delivery-partner who was suspended after an altercation at a petrol station in Johor, we would like to clarify this matter,” it says in a media release.
The said delivery-partner was on a job (in the process of delivering food) when he stopped to fuel up when the incident happened. We received reports from the public regarding the incident, which related to public safety,” it says.
Investigations
It adds that following its code of conduct, it took reports of the incident seriously and suspended the rider. The aim was to investigate the problem and after discussions with the rider, he was reinstated.
“As a precautionary measure and according to our processes in managing safety incidents, we temporarily suspended his account while we investigated the matter.
Partner Reinstated
“Upon completion of the investigation (which includes conversations with the said partner), we have since reinstated him,” it says. Once partner reinstated, the incident is considered closed.
