India, Malaysia agree to deepen semiconductor industry collaboration

India and Malaysia are set to ramp up collaboration in the semiconductor industry, building on strategic economic ties ahead of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kuala Lumpur. The partnership aims to strengthen manufacturing capabilities and joint research in advanced chip technologies. 

Malaysia, India to expand semiconductor cooperation ahead of high-level visit

Both governments view semiconductor technology as critical to future economic competitiveness, especially amid global shortages and rising demand across Asia’s technology ecosystem.

The strategic engagement comes as part of broader efforts to enhance bilateral trade, technology transfers and workforce development in high-tech sectors between Malaysia and India.
