KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 — Former UMNO Youth Chief Khairy Jamaluddin believes the party retains a strong foundation to recover and regain Malay support, rather than forming new political movements. He acknowledged that divisions among Malay parties are increasingly evident, weakening their overall strength both in perception and reality.

Speaking on his Keluar Sekejap podcast, Khairy admitted UMNO’s mistakes, particularly before the 2018 general election, but stressed the party’s “solid bones” remain intact. He recently submitted an appeal to reinstate his UMNO membership, urging leaders to learn from past errors and rebuild the party’s credibility among Malays.
