Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin urged the government to be transparent about the Kuala Lumpur Tower concession transition, criticizing its perceived bias and forced eviction of the previous operator on April 16, 2025. He called the eviction of Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd, a Bumiputera company with a strong track record, unjust, noting its RM300 million liability burden. Muhyiddin, also Bersatu president, said the incident undermines Malaysia’s rule of law, citing a court dispute and public backlash. “At the event, Tun Dr Mahathir spoke about the national policy to support capable Bumiputera entrepreneurs to succeed, not to take over their concessions or terminate their contracts,” he said.
