Kopi, a stray dog who gained attention for a viral video showing her playfully interacting with a kitten, was reportedly shot dead by the Kuala Terengganu City Council during a stray culling operation on October 6. A local resident, who knew Kopi, heard gunshots and found her bleeding and in pain. Sadly, she died soon after. An online petition, started by Cristabel Leo, has gathered over 2,500 signatures demanding accountability and a reevaluation of stray animal management. Kopi, known as a “big sister” to other strays, was beloved in the community and remembered fondly on social media.
