Malaysia Reaffirms Commitment to MH17 Justice Amid Russia Visit

Malaysia remains committed to seeking justice for MH17 victims while balancing diplomatic relations, said Political Secretary to the Prime Minister, Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim. He confirmed Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim raised the issue directly with President Putin during his Moscow visit, noting the ICAO report implicating Russia was released just before the trip.

Kamil emphasized the visit also brought fruitful outcomes in trade, tourism, and halal industry cooperation. Key developments include direct Aeroflot flights to Kuala Lumpur and potential investments worth RM5–10 billion. The Prime Minister will next attend the Russia–Islamic World Economic Forum in Kazan.
