Lans Koperal Muhammad Aniq Taufiq Rozi, 26, a survivor of the tragic Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) crash in Teluk Intan on May 13, recalled being semi-conscious as colleagues pulled him from the wreckage. Aniq, who heard his teammates’ cries for help, learned of their deaths while receiving treatment at Teluk Intan Hospital. “It’s the hardest thing to accept; it happened in a blink,” he said emotionally. Discharged and now in Arau, Perlis, Aniq suffers from lung bruising and waist pain. His wife, Nor Farhana, noted their son’s incessant crying before news of the accident broke. Nine FRU members perished in the collision.
