A 26-year-old Malaysian man, Jathavaram Ragavan, was sentenced to six weeks’ jail in Singapore on May 11 for secretly recording videos of four men in a Sembcorp Marine shipyard toilet. He pleaded guilty to filming private acts without consent, with two other charges taken into consideration. A gag order was imposed to protect one victim’s identity.

Malaysian Jailed

Court documents revealed Jathavaram used his mobile phone to record men in cubicles at Tuas Boulevard Yard in January 2026. He was caught after a victim noticed his phone and confronted him. Police later confirmed he had deleted the videos before investigations.
