New: Man dies in shoot-out with cops during traffic stop in Changloon

A 57-year-old man was killed in a shoot-out with the police at Napoh, Changloon here on Friday (Feb 16) says Kedah police chief Datuk Fisol Salleh who adds that the suspect fired two shots at the police before he was killed in an operation dubbed as Op Laras. The suspect had four criminal records for drugs and firearms-related offenses.

“During the operation, police spotted a car driven by a man exhibiting suspicious behaviour in the area nearby Jalan Bukit Kechik,” he says and instructed the suspect to stop. He refused to comply and fired two shots at the police. It is in self-defence that the police retaliated with four shots. A search inside the suspect’s car discovered two pistols and 240 rounds of ammunition.
