Malaysia Airlines flight MH720 from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur declared an emergency mid-flight and made an emergency landing at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Mar. 18. The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) confirmed receiving a distress call from the Boeing 737-800 at 6:02 PM.

The aircraft landed safely on KLIA’s Runway 32R at 6:17 PM, with Airport Fire and Rescue Service (AFRS) teams on standby. Authorities have not disclosed the reason behind the emergency. The plane was escorted to a designated parking bay, and no injuries or further disruptions were reported.
