Mindef Now Evaluates Black Hawk Helicopter Contract Worth RM187 Million

The Ministry of Defense (Mindef) will conduct a thorough assessment of the RM187 million contract for four Black Hawk helicopters. Minister Khaled Nordin will decide whether to terminate the contract or grant additional time to the supplier. 

Mindef evaluates Black Hawk helicopter contract 

The evaluation will consider potential penalties for delivery delays. Local air service provider, Aerotree Defence & Services Sdn Bhd, has postponed delivering four Sikorsky UH-60A+ Black Hawk helicopters for the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM). 

Army Chief General Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan suggested canceling the contract if delivery obligations aren’t met. Khaled assured military operations would continue smoothly without the helicopters, intended for use in Sabah and Sarawak.
