SINGAPORE, Aug 12, 2026 – A 42‑year‑old mosque employee will be charged for allegedly misappropriating more than S$14,000 from donation boxes between February and May this year. Police said the funds had been entrusted to him in the course of his employment, but preliminary investigations revealed he diverted the money. The man will be charged in court today with criminal breach of trust as an employee.

If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in jail and a fine. The Singapore Police Force stressed that fraudulent conduct will be dealt with severely under the law.
