SEREMBAN, Aug 1, 2026 — Voters across Negeri Sembilan are exercising their democratic rights today in the 16th State Election (PRN) to elect new representatives. A total of 859,760 registered voters, including 7,391 postal voters, will decide which coalition earns the mandate to govern the state after a 14-day campaign period that ended at midnight.
Polling began at 8:00 am across 401 centers with 1,668 streams, and will close at 6:00 pm. The Election Commission (EC) is targeting a turnout of 72–75 percent, with early results expected by 10:00 pm and full results before midnight.

MetMalaysia forecasts clear weather in the morning, with heavy rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon across most districts. A total of 36 State Legislative Assembly seats are contested by 103 candidates, with Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional, Bersatu, Perikatan Nasional, and smaller parties fielding representatives. The Negeri Sembilan assembly was dissolved on June 5.
