Social media users are expressing their dismay towards the decision of not charging private schools that cost RM60,000 and below SST. They state that most Malaysians barely make such an amount in a year, and some of the items they consume will be receiving said tax.

There are several arguments on X regarding this issue, a netizen made a comparison and stated that if those who can afford RM60,000 a year on their children for a private education, they can afford to pay an additional 6-8% tax on it.
Others state that there could be regular Malaysians wanting a better life for their children, hence would send them to private institutions. There are those that charge less, and users believe those should not receive any additional taxes.
