Netizens are questioning the implications for individuals from multi-faith backgrounds, noting that families often include both Muslims and non-Muslims. Some find it peculiar that a Muslim person might need to consult local religious authorities before attending a non-Muslim funeral.

Others asked if only the M40s and B40s will be affected by this and not those upper class individuals who frequently travel to “Kuala London.” There are multiple events hosted outside of Malaysia that would obviously go against these “guidelines” according to some users.
