IPOH, July 13 – Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming declined to comment on calls for his resignation following Barisan Nasional’s (BN) sweeping victory in the Johor state election. Instead, the Teluk Intan MP stressed his commitment to serving the people and prioritising welfare. “I remain committed to work, serve and contribute to the rakyat. This is my commitment,” he said during a programme to distribute RM1 million in disaster relief funds to 556 families affected by the Bercham storm in June.
Resign? No
Pressed further on his position within the Unity Government, the DAP deputy chairman avoided political remarks, urging focus on helping citizens. He added that aid had already been credited directly into recipients’ accounts. Kor Ming previously vowed to resign if former Prime Minister Najib Razak were freed following BN’s victory, a slogan reportedly echoed by UMNO Johor.
