Political activist Roshinee Mookaiah announced that over 1,400 Malaysians have signed the “Dilarang Ponteng Parlimen” petition, nearly triple its original target of 500. Launched in mid‑April, the campaign surpassed expectations by 297%, making it the second known parliamentary petition in Malaysia.

Demographic analysis showed women made up 55.5% of signatories, with Gen Z contributing the largest share at 57.8%. Geographically, Selangor led with 49% of participants. The petition calls for reforms to improve MP accountability, including stricter attendance rules, transparent records, and public consultation. It has been submitted to Parliament and awaits review.
