PAS Leader: Only Lovers of Islam Support Party

PAS vice‑president Mohd Amar Abdullah has stressed that only those who truly love Islam will support or vote for the party, as PAS positions itself not merely as a political organisation but also as a movement for dakwah and tarbiyah. 

Speaking at a ceramah in Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan, he said PAS requires political power to implement religious principles in governance while continuing to educate the public about Islam.

PAS Urges Members to Stay Steadfast Amid Challenges

He explained that Muslims who do not understand or embrace Islam may not support PAS, even if they perform religious obligations such as the pilgrimage. 

At the same time, non‑Muslims can also back PAS, as seen in the Dewan Himpunan Penyokong PAS (DHPP), because they recognise the party’s policies as beneficial beyond the Muslim community.

Mohd Amar, who is also Speaker of the Kelantan state assembly, described this understanding as PAS’s “secret strength” that must be preserved. He urged members to remain steadfast amid growing challenges and political pressure.

Touching on the Registrar of Societies’ (ROS) notice to Perikatan Nasional (PN), he said the coalition is facing attempts to weaken it, especially from rivals who view PN as a stronger challenger than Barisan Nasional. He called on supporters to pray that PN can respond effectively and avoid deregistration.
