KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20, 2026 – Police are appealing for public assistance to identify the body of a woman discovered inside a suitcase in the Perak River near Jeti Lembah, Kuala Kangsar last Friday.

District police chief ACP Heisham Harun said checks with the National Registration Department (NRD) found no fingerprint matches. Forensic examination revealed the victim was in her 30s, about 154cm tall, weighed 48kg, with shoulder-length black hair and medium complexion.

She was wearing a black-and-white striped long-sleeve shirt, black jeans, and earrings when found. Authorities confirmed she was not a local citizen, citing the absence of a BCG vaccination scar. A post-mortem at Hospital Taiping classified the case as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
