Russian street artist now wants to know why her mural in Kuala Lumpur has been removed

Russian street artist Julia Volchkova expressed her disappointment after discovering her Goldsmith mural at Jalan Panggong in Kuala Lumpur had been removed or painted over. Created in April 2016, the mural featured a bespectacled local man hammering a nail and was listed on Lonely Planet and TimeOut as an attraction.

Russian street artist shocked

Volchkova described the mural as her “child” and was pained by its disappearance, highlighting the effort and challenging conditions involved in its creation. She acknowledged that mural removal is a common issue for street artists but stressed the importance of discussing such incidents.
