Selangor’s New Assessment Tax Rates to Take Effect in 2025
Originally, a 100% hike was proposed, but feedback led to a 75% reduction. The revision follows a mandated review in the Local Government Act 1976. This recalibration is less severe than feared, with the annual increase since the last revision being minimal.
Exemptions are provided for low-cost houses and traditional village houses. Local authorities are urged to enhance public services and keep residents informed about improvements.
