SEGAMAT: A series of mild earthquakes has rattled Segamat and surrounding areas over the past week, with the latest 2.5-magnitude aftershock recorded at 7.56pm on Thursday (Aug 28), 13km north of Segamat. It followed a 3.2-magnitude tremor earlier that morning and a 4.1-magnitude quake on Aug 24. MetMalaysia said the quakes, at depths of 10km, caused tremors felt across Johor and parts of southern Pahang. Residents were urged to complete online questionnaires to assist investigations. Authorities assured close monitoring, confirming no casualties or damage. A 2.8-magnitude tremor was also detected in Yong Peng on Aug 24.
