Suspect Arrested in Bangsar Journalist Assault Case

Police have arrested a 37-year-old man in Cheras in connection with the assault on journalist Haresh Deol in Bangsar. Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Hoo Chang Hook confirmed the suspect was detained at 2am and remanded for three days. 

Suspect Arrested

Haresh had reported on social media that he was attacked by two individuals while another recorded the incident. He later lodged a police report. Authorities are still searching for other suspects believed to be involved. 

The case has drawn condemnation from media groups, who stress that attacks on journalists threaten press freedom and demand swift action to protect reporters.
