Teenagers Detained in DUKE Highway Street Racing Crackdown

Early Sunday morning (25 January), Kuala Lumpur police detained several teenagers during an integrated enforcement operation against illegal street racing and motorcycle modifications on the Duta–Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE).

A 17‑year‑old admitted it was his third summons for illegal exhaust modifications, saying his parents only required him to pay the fines himself. Another teen confessed to racing after being provoked, though he initially intended only to test his father’s modified motorcycle. 

The operation inspected over 400 motorcycles, seizing 83 and issuing 343 summonses. Six individuals were arrested under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act for reckless and dangerous driving.
